Postgraduate Student Funding Opportunities

There are several opportunities at Cambridge to support both Home and Overseas students. Please mind the aplication deadlines in December!

• University Funding Website. Main Opportunities:
  • The Gates foundation provides generous PhD studentship support in Cambridge, with deadlines in the Fall (country-specific deadlines).
  • The Cambridge Trust also funds PhD students, with deadlines in December and January.
• Department of Engineering postgraduate admissions website.
• Department of Engineering postgraduate funding.
• The Future Infrastructure and Built Environment (FIBE2) offers MRes+PhD programmes with deadlines in October and December.
• The physics department website has a neatly organised section for funding. Worth checking out!

Postoctoral Fellowships

We are happy to host a variety of Cambridge and UK-based fellowships for postdocs, including:

• Royal Academy of Engineering Research Fellowships.
• The Leverhulme Trust.
• Royal Commission for the Exhibition of 1851 Research Fellowships. Application deadline in February.
• Newton International Fellowships from the Royal Society, for non-UK researchers.
• Fellowships for commonwealth Masters, PhD and postdoctoral researchers, various deadlines.
• College Junior Research Fellowships (JRFs), advertized mainly in the Autumn in the "Vacancies" section of the Cambridge Reporter.
