Micro-Mechanical Testing of Metals with Architected Microstructure

Supported by the Isaac Newton Trust at the University of Cambridge, we are studying the microscopic as well as bulk mechanical behaviour of metal alloys with architected microstructure. The central idea is to use in-situ mechanical testing during electron and optical microscopy to investigate the unique deformation mechanisms at play in these materials.
